The Libravian premiered at Baboró Festival, October 2021 in Galway City and County. It toured to Ottawa Children’s Festival in Canada in May 2022 supported by Culture Ireland and to Cairde Arts Festival, July 2022.

This 40 minute show explores themes of courage and identity, celebrating brilliant books and diverse stories through big hearted physical comedy.

Audiences are invited on a journey through literature led by Lynn, a lovable ‘libravian’. Lynn chats with audiences and lip syncs to original audiobook soundscapes that immerse the audiences in the world of each book, all written by Irish authors around the theme of bravery. This unique performance, with playful costume and intricate sound design, reinvigorates civic spaces and delights young audiences, families and schools with a celebration of literature, physical theatre and diverse stories.

The Libravian is a Commission by Baboró International Arts Festival for Children in partnership with Children’s Books Ireland. The show features brave, diverse books by Irish authours Patricia Forde, Meg Grehan, Christine Hamill and Jane Mitchell.
