The Fisherwives

Fisherwoman, Fisherwoman, Sell me your Trout.

Brú Theatre, together with Claddagh Community School, Galway City Museum, Atelier f ür Physisches Theater (Berlin) and Galway 2020's Small Towns Big Ideas created a street performance based on the Fishmarkets of Galway 100 years ago. Mixing masks, folklore and fish, the Fisherwives silently wove their way through the Spanish Arch selling their catch to the large crowds.

The Fisherwives Video here, photographs of the performance were chosen as Photo of the Day/Week in The Irish Times, Voice of America, The Telegraph U.K, Yahoo, MSN and further afield.
